Growing a Progressive Spiritual Community to Build a Just and Loving World
Remembering Stonewall ; Who Leads the Charge?
May 31, 2026 10 am
As we begin celebrating Pride month this week, we are invited to take a look back to 1969 when queer folks finally had enough of being oppressed and bullied by the establishment and pushed back in what became known as the Stonewall Riot. Join Rev. Jenny Amstutz and Director of Music Ministry Matthew Cox as we explore how change happens and why the refusal to accept oppression for ourselves and our neighbors is essential to our work for mutual liberation and justice.
During service, children will be invited to join us for our Faith Exploration program. Our program (K-5th) engages the spirit, mind, and body through games, movement, and hands-on activities. Kids start in the sanctuary with the whole congregation before heading to their classes.
For our youngest friends (under age 5), Nursery care is available for the duration of the service.
This week, we’re exploring how curiosity is a bridge to the world of our future-self. As we do this, we will dive into the idea that what we are curious about as a child almost always shapes who we are as we grow up, and especially what we are passionate about as we get older.
