Growing a Progressive Spiritual Community to Build a Just and Loving World

The Man, the Dream, the Movement

February 1, 2026 10 am

On this first day of Black History Month, we will hear the story of the Civil Rights movement as it unfolded over the course of a decade. This service, written by Rev. Clyde Grubbs and Mary Jane Holden, and adapted by Erika Hewitt, will include youth readers, songs of resistance, and projected photos throughout. People of all ages are invited to learn about this important time in history and be empowered to use our voices, our courage, and our resources to dismantle oppression in all its forms. Join our Director of Faith Exploration, Leah Porter Tracy, as she leads this service.

This is a multi-generational service. Children are welcome in the sanctuary for the entire service, and childcare will not be provided.
