Minister

Rev. Jenny Amstutz

Reverend Jenny Amstutz (she/her), a native of southwest Denver, began her ministry at Columbine UU Church the summer of 2021 after completing her Masters of Divinity at Meadville Lombard Theological School. She brings a passion for environmental and social justice to her ministry, having spent a decade building and promoting sustainable living residential demonstration projects (ecovillages) in Virginia, California, Missouri and Ireland. Rev. Jenny has been a passionate Unitarian Universalist ever since she discovered the religion in the early 2000s. She is a mother to five wonderful human beings and lives in Lakewood with her husband, children, and a menagerie of pets.

Director of Music Ministry

Matthew Cox

Matthew is thrilled to be a part of the music ministry at Columbine UU Church.  He received a Bachelor of Musical Arts degree from the Eastman School of Music, and studied Audio Music Engineering and American Sign Language at the University of Rochester. Matthew teaches piano, voice, violin, and viola at Deeply Rooted Music School in Arvada, and performs as a vocalist and and multi-instrumentalist throughout the Denver Metro Area.

When he’s not thinking about music, Matthew enjoys listening to music while exercising or vegetable gardening, and occasionally takes breaks from listening to music so that he can listen to NPR.

Director of Faith Exploration

Krystal Myers

Krystal Myers is honored to be our Director of Faith Exploration, and brings excitement to working with the community and members (both youth, staff and families of all walks) to continue building an inclusive, welcoming, and creative program!

Her background includes a Bachelors degree in studio art and a Masters degree in instruction and curriculum. Before becoming a mom, she worked in public school settings (and spent time directing a day program for seniors at a retirement community) teaching art and designing my her curriculum. After the birth of her daughter and becoming a stay at home mom, she started her own program part time to teach art classes at local libraries for homeschooled students. She is very passionate printmaker, and loves sewing, crafting, painting, or anything that involves making grand messes.

Community Engagement Coordinator- Volunteer

Destiny Beeson

Originally from California's Central Valley, Destiny spent nearly two decades in San Diego before moving to the mountains in late 2024. Captivated by the local landscape and slower paced lifestyle, she now balances life as a stay-at-home mom with a deep commitment to community service.

Destiny brings over a decade of professional experience in animal welfare to her volunteer work, where she has supported various nonprofits for years. She serves as a multifaceted contributor at CUUC, managing website events, social media strategy, and organizational tasks.

When she isn't coordinating at CUUC or volunteering at her kids' school, Destiny can be found exploring the mountain trails she has fallen in love with, managing a lively household that includes her children, a flock of chickens, and her dog, Ace, diving into a good book or experimenting with new recipes in the kitchen.
