Food for Thought

Sunday, October 1, 8:30 am - "Covenants - why are they important?".  Please review the two attachments prior to the meeting.  One is our church covenant, the other is a covenant used by one of our small groups.

Each Sunday we sing our children from the sanctuary back to their time of Faith Development. This is such an important time in their growth.

But wait, despite the fact that most of us are either a little, or a lot, past childhood, we still have opportunities for growth. Faith Development is important for all of us.

Here at Columbine UU, as part of our Adult Faith Development, we have Food for Thought, where we can be enlightened, entertained, and energized. It’s also where we can ask questions, express ourselves and grow in our faith. Each time we meet, we discuss a topic chosen by the group and relate it to our shared UU faith. We encourage everyone to participate and contribute to the conversation. Those of us who are already part of Food for Thought won’t miss a week if we can help it! Come join us and find out why.

Here are some of the topics we’ve discussed over the past seven years:

  • Religious freedom

  • Sexuality in our lives

  • Living outside the box

  • Loneliness in the time of Covid

  • When is helping not helping?

  • Impermanence

  • Humanism

  • Human trafficking

  • The future of marriage

  • Unplug the Christmas Tree

We meet on the 1st and 3rd Sundays of every month, from 8:30 – 9:30, in the Lounge and via Zoom (Meeting ID: 966 2261 0260, Passcode: Thought)

. Watch for upcoming topics as they’re listed in the weekly Columbine Connection, and contact Kathy Derrick, or Faith Development, for further information.

Please join us - there’s a vacant chair just waiting for you!
