Church
Choir
he CUUC Choir sings choral music from a variety of genres. Though
primarily an adult ensemble, the choir welcomes young people from
ages ten and up who commit to the rehearsal schedule, making the
group intergenerational. Rehearsals take place Sunday mornings from
9 to 10:15 am and the choir sings twice monthly in Sunday services
September through May. The choir also participates in events in the
wider UU community.
Contact David Burrows, the Director, at 303-455-2110, or
heartflute@yahoo.com, for more information.
Hymns &
Accompanists
When the choir is not singing, church service attendees are accompanied on a
beautiful baby grand piano donated by CUUC member Bill Oliver in
2005. The piano accompanists are Suzie Anderson and MJ Eger. We normally sing
two hymns every Sunday from one of the two Unitarian-Universalist
hymnals.
Member &
Guest Musicians
Our services feature guest musicians for a prelude and music
accompanying the offertory. CUUC's music
coordinator, selects from among talented members, friends, and guest
musicians, following suggestions from the church worship committee
on the Sunday Service program. Over the past year, musicians have
included small singing groups, string duets and trios, jazz groups,
vocalists accompanying themselves on guitar, and soloists playing
the classical guitar, Indian flute, classical flute, harp, jazz
trumpet, piano, violin, and other instruments.
